Paul Brown predicts West Ham United struggle without Jarrod Bowen as ‘big deal’ claim made
West Ham United will struggle to be as creative without injured winger Jarrod Bowen, according to journalist Paul Brown.
The attacker is currently sidelined with a knee injury suffered while on England duty during the recent international break.
The 26-year-old missed his side’s clash with Burnley on Saturday (25 November), which the East London club won 2-1.

“Yeah, I think Jarrod Bowen has already proved just how important he is to West Ham,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT (28 November). “West Ham are going to struggle to be as creative without him.
“He’s a good finisher. He advances the ball up the pitch, his movement causes teams problems, and losing him is a big deal for West Ham. They lose a lot of cutting edge without him and they don’t really have a whole lot of options in forward areas which makes his absence even harder to bear.
“I just think Bowen is a really good player who deserves all the plaudits he gets. He’s moved up a division and thrived under David Moyes and he’s becoming one of the best forwards in the Premier League. So I think any team would miss him when he’s out.”

Big miss
Bowen is obviously a massive miss for Moyes and the Hammers, with everyone associated with the East London club desperate for the England ace to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
The London Stadium outfit did, however, manage without the winger against the Clarets, with a Dara O’Shea own goal and Tomas Soucek clinching all three points for the visitors at Turf Moor.
It remains to be seen how long Bowen will be out for, with West Ham having a busy fixture list at this moment in time, beginning with a trip to Backa Topola in the Europa League on Thursday (30 November).
Given the club’s positive position in the group, along with the presence of the likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Mohammed Kudus, Moyes is highly unlikely to risk Bowen in that one.
The winger may then be back in claret and blue when Crystal Palace visit the London Stadium on Sunday (3 December).
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign a Ukraine sensation in 2024, with an exit for the player “widely expected.”
