PAI Capital postpone fresh West Ham bid until next week

PAI Capital have decided to postpone their plans to submit a fresh bid to buy West Ham until next week.

The London-based consortium had plans to table a new offer this week after a £400million bid was knocked back by David Sullivan in February.

With the Hammers looking to get transfer deals done in the final days of the summer window, PAI have moved their plans back.

They posted through their official Twitter account on Friday afternoon: “Given the transfer deadline, PAI don’t want to distract the club’s owners from finalising any transfers before the window closes, so we are holding back the bid until next week.

“We see this move in the club’s best interests, and it does not change our intentions to get our deal done!”

Sensible

West Ham fans have waited all week for PAI Capital’s fresh bid, and it is only right for the would-be owners to provide an update.

They recently recruited Irons legend Tony Cottee to join forces with Rio Ferdinand and Anton Ferdinand in backing their bid to buy the club.

The London Stadium outfit are expected to announce a deal for Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma anytime soon, while moves for a striker and attacking midfielder could also happen before Tuesday’s deadline.

With everyone at the club clearly busy in the finals days leading to next week’s deadline, receiving a bid is the last thing they want right now.

Hammers majority owner Sullivan made it known that PAI’s initial £400million bid is derisory, and they need to return with something juicy to have any chance of forcing the hands of the club’s board.

With the current owners not keen on selling the club right now, investing in quality players in the current transfer window could see them earn the favour of some of the fans, and should they manage to get in three top signings, there would be less agitation from the West Ham supporters as far as wanting them gone imminently is concerned.
