PAI Capital plan to submit new West Ham bid this week

PAI Capital will submit a new bid as they eye a West Ham takeover, hoping it will allow them close a deal in the coming weeks, according to Sunday Telegraph.

David Sullivan knocked back their first bid of around £400million in February, and the consortium have since been endorsed by Tony Cottee, Rio Ferdinand and Anton Ferdinand.

PAI Capital will now move to table a fresh bid this week, with Telegraph’s Chief Football Writer Sam Wallace writing on their website: “A spokesman for PAI told the Sunday Telegraph that a new bid will be made this week which it says it hopes will “allow us to close a deal in the coming weeks”.”

West Ham

Hope?

Getting the current Hammers owners to sell will be a very challenging task for PAI Capital, and their second bid has to be a very significant one before GSB can be convinced.

With around a week left in the summer transfer window, West Ham are the only Premier League team yet to make an outfield signing.

We would not be surprised if none is made or if it turns out to be an underwhelming one.

Nothing done by this current board surprises us anymore, but PAI have not been particularly convincing either.

The radio and newspaper interviews have not detailed exactly what they are bringing to the table that makes them better than GSB.

West Ham

Recruiting some West Ham legends is not enough either, and they still have a lot of work to do if they want the fans fully on board with them.

We are keen to see what bid they are tabling this week, and it definitely has to be convincing enough for them to believe it would help close a deal in the coming weeks.
