Pablo Fornals instantly reacts to Aaron Cresswell exit announcement at West Ham

Pablo Fornals has provided his instant reaction to the news that Aaron Cresswell is set to leave West Ham United.

West Ham announced on Friday (9 May) that Cresswell will depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Apart from the left-back, Lukasz Fabianski, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings are also confirmed to be leaving the London Stadium ahead of the summer.

This means that the Irons faithful will bid adieu to the four players in their last home game of the season against Nottingham Forest next Sunday (18 May).

Their last match with the East London outfit will come against Ipswich Town the following weekend.

Fornals upset with West Ham announcement

While all four of those players’ futures have been up in the air for a while, the official announcement has resulted in an outpouring of emotion among the West Ham fans.

Fornals was among the first to instantly react to the news, as he took to social media to express his sadness.

The former Hammers ace kept his reaction simple by posting two crying face emojis in the club’s Instagram comment section (9 May).

The announcement also drew a reaction from actor Nick Frost, who is particularly disappointed to see Cresswell depart.

“Keep Cresswell!”, he wrote.

Michail Antonio set for London Stadium stay

Cresswell, Coufal, Fabianski and Ings are not the only West Ham players with expiring contracts, as Michail Antonio is also in a similar situation.

However, the Jamaica international was notably excluded from the Irons’ exit announcement, suggesting that a contract extension is on the cards for him.

Antonio has missed most of the season after getting into a life-threatening road traffic accident in December.

There have been suggestions that West Ham could offer him a contract extension while he recovers from the long-term injury.

It now remains to be seen if that is the case.
