O’Neil sack update for West Ham v Wolves as Moyes likelihood detailed
Gary O’Neil’s job as Wolves manager is under serious threat ahead of the game against West Ham United on Monday, according to Liam Keen of the Express & Star.
The journalist reported via the newspaper’s website on 5 December that it is unclear if O’Neil will be in the dugout when Wolves visit the London Stadium on 9 December.
David Moyes has been linked with the managerial role at Molineux, but he is deemed “unlikely” to take it due to owners Fosun being persistent on a self-sustainable model.
Graham Potter, who is also mooted as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui, has emerged as the Wanderers’ favoured option, although his stance is likely the same as Moyes.
Will O’Neil and Lopetegui be in charge for West Ham v Wolves?
While O’Neil is facing an uncertain future at Molineux, Wolves may still keep him for the time being to avoid having a caretaker in charge for the trip to East London.
Meanwhile, Lopetegui’s future at West Ham is hanging by a thread after losing 3-1 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday [3 December].

Several managers have been linked with the managerial post at the London Stadium in recent weeks, particularly after the result against Leicester.

Edin Terzic is among those mooted as a replacement for Lopetegui and would be open to taking the reins, according to the Daily Mail.
Therefore, it remains to be seen if either O’Neil or Lopetegui will take charge of their respective teams come Monday.
The Hammers are 14th in the table, six points above the drop zone, while Wolves are just one place above the bottom.
