O’Neil sack decision made as sources share new fear ahead of West Ham v Wolves

Wolves’ current plan is for Gary O’Neil to be in charge for the Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday, according to talkSPORT.

The broadcaster reported via its website [5 December] that the 51-year-old is under increasing pressure at Molineux and sources close to the manager fear he is running out of time.

Wolves travel to the London Stadium on 9 December to battle in what is being dubbed the “El Sackico” due to the pressure currently on Julen Lopetegui in East London.

Gary O’Neil and Julen Lopetegui face off in West Ham v Wolves

Lopetegui will likely be keen for Wolves to keep the current man in charge, seeing that the Spaniard fell victim to Leicester City’s new manager bounce in a 3-1 loss at the King Power Stadium.

Wolves are currently sitting inside the relegation zone after 14 matches, only gaining nine points from wins against Southampton and Fulham and draws against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers’ situation is not much better, having won 15 points from their first 14 matches, leaving them just six points above the dreaded dropzone and Lopetegui is now facing the consequences.

It remains to be seen if the Spaniard will be in charge to face his former team at the London Stadium, with fans growing restless with the lack of positive results and poor excuses.

It has been suggested that David Sullivan is already in favour of getting rid of the head coach after such a torrid start to the campaign [TBR Football], though no official decision has been made yet.

Time is ticking for both managers to turn things around at their respective clubs, and it has been predicted that one of them will face a sack based on the result on Monday.
