Olympiakos fans in ‘X-rated’ clash with English media ahead of West Ham United match

Olympiakos fans have been involved in a clash with the English media ahead of the game against West Ham on Thursday (26 October), according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday (25 October) that the journalists were given a “hostile welcome” when they arrived at the Karaiskakis Stadium for the pre-match press conference.

It said their arrival involved X-rated insults, saliva and lobbed rolls of sellotape from the Athens-based club’s ultras, who were inside the stadium preparing a tifo for the Europa League fixture against the Hammers.

West Ham

Ferocious

If there is one thing that can be guaranteed for the clash against Olympiakos this evening, it’s that there will be a ferocious atmosphere inside the stadium.

The Greek fans are known for creating a hostile environment and it’ll be no different as they look to get one over West Ham to hand the visitors their first defeat in Europe in 17 games.

The Hammers will be looking to continue their solid start to their European campaign, having picked up victories in each of their opening two matches.

But they will have to be much better than they were against Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October) after losing 4-1 at Villa Park following a disappointing performance.

David Moyes is likely to make a couple of changes, but he will still be keen to play a strong side to ensure that we remain competitive enough to claim a victory.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign a forward dubbed “incredible” by Neymar as his club want to sell him.
