‘Of course’ – Danny Mills claims 7-figure deal for West Ham ace makes ‘perfect business sense’

Danny Mills has claimed that any deal West Brom could strike to ensure West Ham winger Grady Diangana stays at the club for another season would make “perfect business sense”.

The wide man has been a standout performer for the Baggies this season, with the club currently sitting atop the Championship table.

And it has been reported, as per The Telegraph, that Albion are considering making a £3 million offer to the Hammers to keep the 21-year-old on loan for another season – regardless of what division they end up in.

Asked whether that would be smart business from the Baggies in an interview with Football Insider, Mills said: “Yeah of course it is!

“But there will be caveats put in there if they get promoted, there will be a bonus structure if they go up, or there could be something in place if they stay in the Championship.

“We’re only ever giving titbits of what these deals are, it’s a potential £3 million loan deal, how much of the wages do they want to pay? All the wages or half the wages?

“What are the bonuses involved? It’s far more complicated than people see from the outside.

“These deals are incredibly detailed. There’s an awful lot that goes into them.

“If they can get a deal in place, yeah, of course, it makes perfect business sense.”

Should West Ham let Diangana go out on loan for another season?

At some point, Diangana is going to have to be given a chance in east London, and after the season he’s put in so far, you have too ask what more he could possibly do to ensure that opportunity comes next year.

The wide man has been superb for the Baggies this term, and there’s a reason why they are already mooting a possible extension to his stay in the midlands.

So far this term he has averaged 2.3 successful dribbles and 1.3 key passes per game, as per Whoscored, plus five goals and five assists in the Championship.

That kind of form deserves a shot at the big time, and the Irons must resist the urge to loan him out again for the sake of a quick buck.
