Nottingham Forest to come back in for West Ham starlet Emmanuel Longelo

West Ham United look set to receive another transfer approach for young defender Emmanuel Longelo this summer, according to Claret and Hugh.

Championship high-flyers Nottingham Forest are the club showing the most interest in 21-year-old having previously seen a bid rejected in January.

Claret and Hugh believe that the Hammers may well use Longelo in a deal to bring Forest defender Joe Worrall to the London Stadium after their own failed attempt in the winter window.

No new contract talks have taken place between Steve Cooper’s Reds and the 25-year-old which has perked the spirits of the Irons ahead of a potential move in the summer.

Longelo’s future at West Ham has almost been sealed already given that he has barely featured in any senior team squads thus far.

He is already 21 years of age too so it isn’t like he’s an incredibly young up and coming teenager who is destined for the top.

If David Moyes really believes that Worrall will come in and make a positive impact on the team, then he surely has to lend Longelo to the Reds in exchange to help reduce the price they might have to pay.

The success of Nottingham Forest this season shouldn’t make any impact on whether the Hammers let Longelo leave as he is never likely to be a regular player at the London Stadium.

No West Ham fan would be overly distraught at his exit from the club but the arrival of Worrall would certainly perk the interest of supporters if they can get a deal over the line.
