Nikola Vlasic feels ‘free again’ at Torino after moving from West Ham United
Nikola Vlasic has stated he feels “free again” after moving to Italian club Torino from West Ham earlier this season.
The 24-year-old moved for a loan spell from the Hammers in the recently concluded transfer window, after struggling for game time at the London Stadium.
Vlasic was quoted in a report by La Stampa where he revealed that he felt “reborn” after completing the move to Italy.

“There is a huge difference mentally for me [from the time at West Ham to Torino],” he said. “I feel reborn in Italy, I feel free again.
“Everything is going well at Torino. I am working hard, I know there is a lot to do, but I am sure I’ll benefit from this in the future.
“What counts the most is to play consistently, which is what I am doing here. I feel trust from everyone and there is nothing I can complain about.”
Sad ending
Transfer activity is a cruel business in the world of football as not everything pans out the way it is expected to be.
Vlasic was that one signing for West Ham as he arrived with a big reputation from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth £27 million.
During his stay in London, the 24-year-old only managed to score one goal and provided three assists in 36 matches across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

That performance was contrasting to what he delivered in the season before joining the Irons where he scored 12 times and provided six assists in just 34 appearances across different competitions.
It became increasingly clear towards the end of the last season that the Croatia international was bound to leave the club just 12 months after his big-money move.
For his own sake, Vlasic had a more than decent beginning to his time in Italy where he has already scored three times in just seven Serie A appearances.
