Nikola Milenkovic will cost West Ham just £12.8million

Calciomercato journalist Eleonora Trotta has revealed on her Twitter account that Fiorentina want £12.8million for West Ham target Nikola Milenkovic.

She claims that Juventus are very keen, but this price tag has held back negotiations. She then adds that we should “pay attention” to West Ham as it seems as if the Old Lady are out of the race for Milenkovic.

Even after the pandemic, you have to feel that £12.8mllion for a full international who has made 121 Serie A appearances is cheap, and the Hammers should be all over this deal.

Can West Ham sign Milenkovic?

The 23-year-old’s value seems to have rapidly fallen as it wasn’t that long ago that the Serie A side were said to be after £38million [the Sun]. Now, it has more than halved, and you would think now is the time for the Hammers to strike and sign the Serbian.

The fact that Juventus are keen should indicate how highly Milenkovic is rated, but it seems as if they can’t do the deal, and so the Irons have to act and make a move.

West Ham

The 23-year-old has been described as “extraordinary” by Spanish footballer Pol Lirola in the past [X-Sport.news].

In terms of statistics, he stacks up and recorded 1.4 tackles per game and 1.3 interceptions per game last season in 34 league appearances [WhoScored]. If you compare this with West Ham’s centre-backs, you can see that he would have ranked in second place for tackles and third place for interceptions [WhoScored].

His pass completion rate of 86% would have also ranked him in first place when compared with the club’s centre-backs.

So there are many reasons why the Hammers should be all over this deal, and they have to secure Milenkovic ASAP.
