Nikola Milenkovic frustrated at the lack of a breakthrough with West Ham

Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic has become frustrated at the lack of a breakthrough with West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old Serbian is now increasingly likely to stay at the Serie A outfit despite talks with the Hammers.

Sky Sports claim on their live transfer centre running on their website (at 1:20pm) that David Moyes is said to have decided not to pursue it further despite talks progressing.

Ruled out

Except a major change of minds happen, it is safe to say that we will not be signing Milenkovic this summer.

Moyes clearly needs a new centre-back with just three options available, and landing the Fiorentina would have made sense as he is also capable of playing as a right-back.

However, both parties were not able to reach a conclusion as early as the Irons boss would have loved, and the club will now look to move on to other targets.

West Ham

We cannot rely on Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson and Issa Diop for the whole of the 2021-22 campaign given that we are competing in four different competitions, but nothing can be put past this West Ham board, and it would not be particularly surprising if the summer transfer window ends without a new centre-back signed.

Declan Rice has featured in the position a couple of times, and Moyes is probably thinking of using him as an emergency cover if worst comes to worst.

In other West Ham news, Hammers made last-ditch attempt to complete major striker signing.
