Nigel Reo-Coker shares big worry about West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen

Nigel Reo-Coker has said that he is worried about the injury sustained by West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen.

The former Hammers midfielder has hailed Bowen as a “phenomenal” player and suggests he is going to be a big miss for the club.

Bowen appears to have picked up an Achilles injury in the second half during their 1-0 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday (5 March).

Reo-Coker said to BBC Football Daily podcast: “The thing that’s really worrying for me is that Bowen had to be taken off.

“He is going to be a big miss, especially in European competitions. He has been phenomenal for West Ham this season.”

Bowen has enjoyed a superb campaign for the Hammers so far, and it will come as a crushing blow for the club if he is out injured for a lengthy period of time.

The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals and 9 assists in all competitions so far, and there are suggestions that he should be selected in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The winger is still expected to undergo further examination in the coming days, and he is likely to be absent for the Europa League clash against Sevilla.

The Hammers are also waiting to get positive news for Declan Rice who missed the last game against Liverpool due to illness.
