Niclas Fullkrug in crushing new injury blow as West Ham timeline emerges
Niclas Fullkrug could be sidelined for up to three months for West Ham after picking up a hamstring injury, according to Jack Rosser.
The Sun journalist reported via X (12 January) that after having scans on his injury on Saturday (11 January), the striker is set to be out injured for up to three months.
Fullkrug was forced off after just 16 minutes in his side’s FA Cup tie with Aston Villa and is now set for another spell on the sidelines.
Niclas Fullkrug set to be sidelined for West Ham
This news will be a massive blow for the striker who already missed a period of the season after he picked up an injury back in September meaning he’s made just nine Premier League appearances since his arrival in the summer.
Furthermore, this also gives new boss Graham Potter another headache he doesn’t need. Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio are already unavailable for selection due to them both suffering with injuries and now Fullkrug being out adds to his attacking woes.
The 31-year-old was also linked with a move away from The London Stadium during the January window with Ciro Venerato (7 January) reporting that the German was already in talks with Juventus over a move although this will also be halted due to the blow.
The striker had a chance to prove himself under his new manager in the hope that he could finally kickstart his time in East London so this injury timeline will serve as a blow for all at West Ham as they seek a more positive second half of the campaign.
In other West Ham news, Tim Steidten has the chance to save himself at The London Stadium after an update elsewhere.
