Newcastle United see Leicester City ace James Maddison more realistic than West Ham United star Declan Rice
Newcastle reportedly see Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison more realistic than West Ham captain Declan Rice.
According to the I [05 May], the Magpies are set to back manager Eddie Howe this summer as they’re likely to play Champions League football next season.
While they do want the Hammers midfielder, they do not think that it’s a likely transfer option, given his links to other sides.

Weird alternative
We’re surprised how they can pick between Maddison and Rice as both are different kinds of midfielders and can even play in the same eleven.
Rice is a deep-lying player who can play as a ball carrier and also a box-to-box midfielder if the situation demands it.
Maddison, on the other hand, is a more attack-minded player and likes to operate in the final third, either centrally or out wide.

Regardless, wherever Rice goes, he’s going to fetch the Hammers a good amount of money and that’s perhaps the most important thing for the club.
They would’ve liked to have him beyond the summer but it seems like he wants to leave West Ham and compete for top honours.
His agent is already in talks with multiple clubs and hopefully, the Hammers sell to the highest bidders and then cash in on other players.
