Newcastle set to beat Leeds United to sign West Ham defender Harrison Ashby
Newcastle reportedly have won the race to secure the services of West Ham defender Harrison Ashby amid Leeds United interest.
According to ExWHUemployee, the Magpies tabled a £2million offer for the 20-year-old who’s refusing to sign a new contract at the London Stadium.
The Hammers tried to keep him and Leeds wanted to hijack the move, but he is set to move to St James’ Park today.

Ex wrote, “Newcastle has bid £2m for Harrison Ashby, who is refusing to sign a new contract with the club. They look set to beat Leeds to the signature and sadly stopping him staying with us!”
Bad news
Ashby probably did not see a quick route to first-team football at West Ham and that played a key role in him moving to Newcastle.
Despite the defensive crisis at the start of the summer, David Moyes did not see him as an option to fill in and went out and bought more players.
That clearly would not have set well with the defender who’s already made his senior debut for the club and aimed to move to bigger things.
However, the club will be disappointed with the news but have to accept the player’s decision.
The transfer fee received for him is slightly on the lower side but the player was desperate to leave so it made sense to cash in rather than have a disgruntled name on the books.
Hopefully, the Hammers continue their deadline day deals and bring in some more players rather than just lose out on players as they did with Ashby.
