Newcastle offer £10m loan fee to Manchester United for West Ham target Jesse Lingard

Newcastle have reportedly made a £10million loan offer for Manchester United attacker and West Ham target Jesse Lingard.

According to 90Min, they’re also willing to take over all of his wages which would see him snubbing interest from the Hammers and Tottenham Hotspur.

He’s shunned interest from the Irons despite enjoying the best form of his career under David Moyes on loan last season.

Robbing them blind

It’s outrageous to see a club paying eight figures for signing a player on loan without any guarantee of making it permanent.

Also, the England international’s deal at the club expires at the end of the season which means that he will then be available on a free.

If the Newcastle loan spell goes bad, then West Ham could be a suitable landing destination for Lingard.

That said, it’s good the Hammers didn’t push hard to sign him in the January window.

They would’ve ended up overpaying just for a loan spell and it would’ve been a bad financial move.

In the summer, if he is available and keen on a move to London Stadium, then a free transfer makes a lot of sense.

Whether or not Moyes will still be as keen on securing his services, remains to be seen.
