Newcastle making enquiries over loan deal for West Ham man Manuel Lanzini
Newcastle United are making enquiries over signing West Ham man Manuel Lanzini on loan in January, according to 90min.
The Argentine attacker, 28, is struggling to break into David Moyes’ starting XI at the London Stadium, and the Magpies have him on their radar as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the campaign.
The Hammers are challenging for a top-four finish and silverware in 2021-22, and whether Lanzini is open to swapping that for a relegation battle on Tyneside remains to be seen.

Tempting?
Newcastle’s financial status as the wealthiest team on the planet is not reflecting in the Premier League table at the moment.
The billionaire-owned side are currently in 19th place, and they have plans to bring in a couple of quality players on temporary and permanent deals next month in a bid to turn their season around.
Lanzini has only started three league games so far this term, but he has scored thrice and assisted twice in 18 games across all competitions.

Eddie Howe knows the West Ham man can help improve his side’s fortunes in the attacking third, but luring him away from David Moyes’ side could prove difficult.
Nevertheless, Lanzini knows he is guaranteed regular starts at St. James’ Park if a move works out, and that could be tempting.
Tony Cottee dubbed him the Hammers’ “best footballer” during an appearance on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday on December 26, 2020, and while not many will agree with him, his huge talent and quality cannot be denied.
