Moyes’ trust in youth players brings Premier League backlash for West Ham
David Moyes could find himself drawing the short straw with his development of the academy prospects he has put his trust in at West Ham.
David Moyes has handed 12 youngsters a chance to shine in the first team since arriving in 2019 as per Football.London.
This would hinder the Irons if they were to make a request to postpone a fixture with their dozen academy players now being deemed “appropriately experienced” for first team action.

Farce
West Ham should be rewarded for blooding their youngsters rather than punished. It is typical of the Premier League to deem these players “appropriately experienced” after cameo appearances.
Most of the 12 players featured in dead weight games in the Europa League and respective cup competitions which hardly sets them up for brutal league action against far greater opponents.

Younger players face a tough task in their pursuit of first team minutes at the best of times and with clubs taking notice of how the authorities have dealt with West Ham, it will now be harder for them.
Moyes and the team have done brilliantly so far in not having any games postponed and with the Norwich City clash rescheduled thanks to the Canaries.
Although these rules make it difficult, the positives of handing 12 youngsters their debuts must be focussed on. West Ham continue to run one of the best academies in world football which will help the club massively.
