Moyes issues verdict on Diangana returning to West Ham in January
West Ham have been crying out for a bit of a spark for the vast majority of this season.
The Hammers have lurched from one disappointment to another for much of the campaign, but did look greatly improved in their first game under new boss David Moyes.
A 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth was just what the doctor ordered, but more significant still were goals for Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson, the latter of which hadn’t hit the back of the net all season prior to the match.
With that in mind, you can understand why there has been chatter about bringing young Grady Diangana back from his loan spell at West Brom early.
The winger has been in superb form for the Baggies, hitting five goals and five assists in the Championship so far this season.
And Moyes hasn’t ruled out the possibility of recalling him either.
Speaking on talkSPORT, as per Claret & Hugh, he said: “He’s a very good player and it’s a decision we’ll make as January goes on.
“Playing in a team at the top of the league can do the boy a world of good. If we need him, there’s no problem bringing him back.”
Most Hammers would surely love to see the boy wonder back in a claret and blue shirt sooner rather than later.
As well as his impressive goal involvement stats, Diangana has also averaged 2.4 successful dribbles and 1.6 key passes per game, as per Whoscored, not to mention a match rating of 7.22.
That kind of quality would be a real boost to the Hammers, but in light of Moyes’ impressive start to his second stint in the dugout, he may see fit to leave Grady where he is for now.
