Mohammed Kudus, Real Madrid claim made after what West Ham United gem has done
Charles Taylor has claimed West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus could “single-handedly” carry Real Madrid.
Kudus enjoyed a sensational debut campaign for the Hammers last season with 18 goals and seven assists in 48 appearances following his move from Ajax.
Player-turned-pundit Taylor admitted he was blown away by Kudus last season on Angel Sports [22 August] and believes the 24-year-old would outperform Vinicius Jr for Los Blancos.
He said: “The ball Mohammed Kudus is playing is not Vinicius Junior’s level. Kudus is a better player than him and can single-handedly carry Real Madrid.”
Mohammed Kudus could leave West Ham United in the future
West Ham pulled off a fantastic coup by securing the signing of Kudus from Ajax last summer.
The Ghanaian international was destined for the Premier League in 2022 and came close to a move to Everton before donning the famous claret and blue after another year in the Eredivisie [Liverpool ECHO].
Kudus picked up where he left off last season and was the main attacking threat for Julen Lopetegui as his side looked to peg back the one-goal deficit in the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on the opening day of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
He will need to be at his best again this season. Crysencio Summerville will be waiting in the wings at the first sniff of an opportunity but for now, his place in the side looks firmly set for the upcoming weeks at least.
West Ham will need to grow with Kudus. If he continues developing at this rate, it won’t be long before Europe’s top sides come knocking at the door for his signature.
Real Madrid, however, is unlikely. Carlo Ancelotti is set for the next few years with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and now Kylian Mbappe at his disposal but is a testament to how far Kudus has come to be mentioned in the same breathe as the 15-time Champions League winners.
West Ham supporters will expect big things from Kudus this term and he will be eager to deliver and fire the Hammers towards a European finish. Enjoy him while you can.
