Mohammed Kudus could receive an "extended" FA ban after being sent off in the game between West Ham United and Tottenham, according to The Mirror.

The 24-year-old was given his marching orders in the 4-1 loss at Spurs on Saturday (19 October) after leaving three opposition players on the floor following a meltdown.

The newspaper has reported in its print edition [21 October, pg 49] that the FA could decide to extend the usual three-match suspension after the "Spectacular" meltdown.

Mohammed Kudus set for extended ban at West Ham United?

Kudus' red card did not mean much to the game as Tottenham were already on course to beat West Ham after the Ghanaian had given them an early lead.

While there is talk about Julen Lopetegui's future at the London Stadium, many are debating whether Kudus should get an extended ban.

There is no doubt that the attacker should not have lost his cool like he did at the weekend as the Hammers now face being without one of their best players for at least three games.

Meanwhile, Ally McCoist has surprisingly claimed that Kudus should have been booked rather than sent off for the incident.

As for West Ham, this could also be a blessing in disguise as Kudus has not been at his best this season, scoring just twice in 10 games across all competitions.

This gives Lopetegui a chance to give Crysencio Summerville an extended run of games in the team and see if the Dutchman can provide ample competition to Kudus.
