Mipo Odubeko could leave West Ham in search of first-team football
Mipo Odubeko could leave West Ham in pursuit of first-team football before the summer transfer window ends, according to 90min.
The 18-year-old striker is frustrated with his lack of opportunities under manager David Moyes, and four Italian outfits and Championship side Huddersfield Town are keen on signing him.
Odubeko has a year left on his contract, and while the Hammers would love to hand him an extension before agreeing to a loan move away, he would rather leave on a permanent basis.
Blow?
Odubeko has regularly trained with the first-team and already played twice for Moyes’ men, but that is not enough for the youngster.
He scored 10 goals in nine Premier League 2 games last term and already has two strikes in as many games in the competition this term.
However, he wants to be playing with the big boys, and with two teams in the Serie A and another two in the Serie B keen, he could be willing to leave the London Stadium this summer.
The former Manchester United youth player is famous for his electrifying pace and clinical finishing, and he was on the radar of a lot of clubs having scored 35 goals in his final season at the Red Devils academy.
However, West Ham stole a march on many rivals by landing the highly-rated striker, but he is beginning to run out of patience.
With Moyes looking to bring in a striker before the end of the month, Odubeko’s chances of getting a sniff of first-team action could become very slim if that happens.
The youngster would be watching with keen interest what happens in the coming days, and an exit could be on the cards.
