Michail Antonio labelled ‘brilliant’ live on Sky Sports as West Ham United draw v Liverpool
Sue Smith was wowed by West Ham striker Michail Antonio live on Sky Sports as he found the back of the net to pin Liverpool back to a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.
The Jamaican striker turned home Jarrod Bowen’s cross with a controlled header into the far corner to bring the Hammers back into the game as Liverpool began to pile on the pressure.
Antonino’s equaliser rubbed more salt in the wounds of Jurgen Klopp’s side who have seen their title challenge fade away during a shocking run of form in recent weeks.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News [27 April, 14:05], Smith shared: “It’s 2-2 and it’s Antonio with the goal. This is probably West Ham’s best bit of play. They had an opportunity just before where Emerson had a shot and Alisson saved it really well.
“This time Bowen gets the ball on the right-hand side and crosses it to Antonio, it’s a brilliant header from him. The dance moves are out and everything now, it’s 2-2.”

Antonio’s equalising goal ultimately secured the Hammers a good point at home against a strong side, but it will likely leave the visiting Liverpool fans frustrated more than it will excite the home supporters at the London Stadium.
Sharing the points on the day means Liverpool have fallen even further behind Arsenal and Manchester City in the title race and are now all but out of contention in Klopp’s final season as the boss at Anfield.
As for West Ham, the point means they move up to 49 points, but given the games in hand the teams around them have, their hopes of qualifying for Europe for another consecutive season seem to have faded, with conversation fixed on David Moyes’ future.

Antonio will be rightly pleased with what was a brilliant header against a tough team which secured his side a point, but in the grand scheme of the season at this late stage, it means much more for the visitors than the hosts.
