Michail Antonio dubbed ‘extreme explosive’ by overseas newspaper ahead of international fixture
West Ham forward Michail Antonio has been dubbed as an “extreme explosive” as he prepares to play for Jamaica against Honduras on Saturday (9 September).
On page 36 of La Prensa’s print edition on 5 September, the Honduran newspaper warned of the dangers posed by the “powerful” Hammers frontman.
It highlighted the 33-year-old as one of the biggest Jamaican threats facing the Honduran side alongside fellow Premier League stars Leon Bailey, Demarai Gray and Bobby De Cordova-Reid.

Tough opponent
There are very few defenders in the Premier League who will enjoy playing against Antonio with the strength he possesses and his unpredictability on the ball.
Given that he can give some of the league’s best players a run for the money, there is no doubt that he could cause carnage playing against some smaller countries for Jamaica.
The forward decided to represent the Caribbean side in 2021 and has so far gone on to make 12 appearances for them, scoring three goals in the process.

After an excellent start to the season with West Ham, where he has registered twice in the opening four games, he will be going into this international break full of confidence and looking to make an impact for his country [Transfermarkt].
If he has a successful time away while on international duty, that can only be a benefit to us as it means he will be in good spirits heading into our next game against Manchester City on 16 September.
