Michael Owen predicts winner in West Ham clash v Aston Villa

Michael Owen has backed West Ham United for all three points in their Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Monday evening.

The pundit admitted that the Irons will be far too dangerous at the London Stadium, and they will battle there way to another victory.

David Moyes’ men go into this on the back of two slender wins, whereas the Villans continue to struggle for consistency in the Premier League.

Writing in his Bet Victor predictions blog, Owen claimed that he was one of few backing the Irons for success in the Premier League.

“Despite a few people suggesting otherwise, I fancied West Ham to do well this season,” he said.

“I think they have talented players and equally feel their manager knows how to get the best out of them.

“I think West Ham may have just too much here. They have shown this season, that when they put it all together, they can be a very dangerous side and I’m going for a hard-fought victory to the Hammers.”

The Hammers have been superb this season, and continue to challenge for Europe despite their challenging start to the campaign.

Moyes will be going into this with a fully-fit squad behind him, with Michail Antonio back available after his hamstring worries.

Villa have been better away from home, with significant victories over the likes of Arsenal and West Ham must be aware of the counter-attacking threat.

Should the Irons get on top, they must find the opening goal – something that could see them take control and get on their way to three points.
