Michael Owen predicts result of West Ham clash v Liverpool
West Ham take a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in Saturday evening’s Premier League kick-off and Michael Owen is expecting a rough night for the visitors.
The Hammers crashed out of the FA Cup in midweek following a 3-1 defeat to Southampton, while Jurgen Klopp’s side breezed past Norwich to make the quarter-finals.
The two sides are competing at the top end of the table currently and while David Moyes’ sides are looking to break into the top four for the first time, former Reds striker Owen told BetVictor that he expects a 3-1 win for Liverpool here to end their hopes of a Champions League place.

“West Ham haven’t been playing well of late, but that was a huge win over Wolves last week,” he said.
“They kept their small chance of a top four finish alive and got a bit of confidence back. A defeat here though, and I think there’s too many teams ahead of them in that race for fourth.
“I think Liverpool will score a few here. They look unbelievable going forward at times, 3-1.”
Pain
It’s been a rough period for the Hammers, with just one win in their last four games in all competitions. But they’re still battling away for a piece of history.
It was Moyes’ men who handed Klopp’s side their first defeat of the season with a 3-2 victory back at the London Stadium in November, and they will need a repeat of that performance here to get a positive result.

Liverpool are flying right now and even with the Hammers at their best they could struggle to stop them, but if they’re lacklustre then it will be nigh on impossible.
They currently sit on 45 points in fifth place, two behind Manchester United, level with Arsenal and three ahead of Tottenham but they have played more games than the latter two.
A bad result here doesn’t necessarily take them out of the race because they have points on the board as opposed to games in hand, but it takes it firmly out of their hands.
