Michael Owen predicts result of West Ham clash v Leicester

West Ham will travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday (13 February) to take on Leicester City, and the Hammers will be looking to secure back-to-back wins.

The Hammers picked up a slender 1-0 win in their previous game, and Michael Owen sees them picking up another crucial three points away from home, predicting a 2-1 win in his BetVictor column while previewing the clash.

West Ham haven’t played well in recent games, while the ongoing public backlash surrounding Kurt Zouma has dominated the headlines in the past few days.

Owen said: “Make no mistake, this is a massive couple of weeks for Leicester. It’s been a frustrating season, and they were really poor in that FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest.

“West Ham haven’t been playing well in the last few games, but the win over Watford was vital. The race for that 4th spot is heating up, and West Ham can’t afford many more slipups.

“Two sides who are desperate to get the win, this should be a good game. I think West Ham will add to Leicester’s struggles and get the win here. 2-1.”

Big game

These are the games West Ham need to win to keep their top-four hopes alive.

Luckily for them, the other potential rivals are dropping points as well. West Ham must capitalise on this and consolidate their position in the league.

They toiled hard to secure a victory against Kidderminster in the FA Cup, while it took a wicked deflection to break Watford’s resilience in the previous game.

It seems the Hammers are getting too reliant on Jarrod Bowen who is enjoying the form of his life. The other players must step up and deliver.

It’s a good sign though to pick up wins without playing well, but against a strong side like Leicester, they will need to return to their best form.

The ongoing Zouma-controversy must have hurt the club, but this shouldn’t distract them from the main task ahead.

Leicester have lost their last three games in the Premier League, and it’s the best time to deliver a further blow to them.

In other West Ham news, there is internal trouble brewing at the London stadium as the Kurt Zouma scandal goes on.
