Micah Richards drops FA Cup magic view ahead of West Ham United v Kidderminster

Micah Richards has admitted he is “fed up” of criticism fired at the FA Cup ahead of Kidderminster hosting West Ham United this afternoon.

The former Manchester City man insisted he is buzzing to be at the game today, predicting a fairytale for the home side.

Richards predicted that West Ham are hot favourites, but when discussing the home sides’ chances, he simply said: “You never know.”

Writing in his latest Daily Mail column, Richards previewed the latest round ahead of making the trip this afternoon.

“I will be at Kidderminster on Saturday lunchtime and I cannot wait,” he wrote.

“I’m fed up of hearing criticism about the FA Cup and people saying it is not exciting when ties such as this one, where a non-league side can come up against Premier League opponents, come out the hat.

“Many people’s memories of football are connected to The FA Cup and I could fill this page with examples of why it means so much to me.

“No other tournament provides the potential for a fairytale like this and while West Ham will be hot favourites, this fixture has those three magic words: you never know.”

Magic.

This afternoon will, of course, be a fairytale for Kidderminster.

But, let’s be honest, the last thing we need at West Ham at this moment in time is an upset against the National League North side.

The pressure is all on the Premier League outfit in these situations, with everyone outside of the club wishing for the likes of Kidderminster to win.

We’re quite certain that David Moyes will name a very strong squad, and that will lead to complete domination, let’s hope this one is over before it even begins.

Of course, the magic of the FA Cup is still alive and kicking, but it is down to us to make sure that dream is put to bed very quickly.
