Maxwel Cornet will feel like a new West Ham UNited signing after injury expert’s promising update
West Ham forward Maxwel Cornet will feel like a new signing for David Moyes following Premier League injury expert Ben Dinnery’s latest update.
The 26-year-old winger joined the Hammers from Burnley in the summer transfer window for around £17.5 million [Sky Sports, 6 August] but has yet to really make an impression at the London Stadium due to an injury lay-off.
The talented winger has only managed to make seven appearances since his move from Turf Moor.

The Ivory Coast international has missed four months of action, suffering a calf injury on his Hammers debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers in October.
Despite recently returning to training [5 December], the forward since suffered a flare-up in his recovery leading to various trips to France to see a specialist.
Speaking to Football.London [10 January], boss David Moyes said he could not give an update on Cornet’s condition. He said: “I’d like to give you a clearer update but I don’t think I can.
“I’ve not asked how his injection went and they’ve not come and told me. I’ll need to check. He’s been to Paris to get an injection to try to free up the fibres and the tendons.”
Moyes then went on to admit that Cornet’s setback could mean the club dip into the January market. However, whilst clubs in an around them down at the bottom of the Premier League table strengthened, the Hammers failed to add further quality, especially following the injury to new signing Danny Ings and summer acquisition Gianluca Scamacca.
However, despite the January disappointment, injury expert Dinnery has provided some pleasing news which could come as some sort of joy to the London Stadium.
It has been reported by Dinnery [Premier Injuries] that Scamacca could return in time for our clash with Chelsea on February 11th and Cornet could be back in time for the game against Tottenham in North London on the 19th of February.

With Moyes’ men facing an excruciating spell of tough fixtures, the return of Cornet will come as a huge boost to his side and can even be considered as a new signing following their lack of much activity in comparison to their rivals last month.
Cornet is indeed a player blessed with purring attacking quality and class which he so excellently showcased during his short spell at a struggling Burnley side last term where he hit an impressive nine goals and one assist from 26 Premier League games.
If Moyes can provide the player with the platform to return to such levels of performance and contributions then the fans will certainly forget about what occurred in January.
West Ham will need to harness all the quality they have at their disposal in the coming weeks, and a fit and firing Cornet is arguably one of the best of the lot.
