Max Kilman sends message to Wolves after West Ham win

West Ham defender Max Kilman has sent a message to his former club Wolves after his current side’s 2-1 victory on Monday.

Julen Lopetegui’s team beat Gary O’Neil’s side in the clash that was labelled as ‘El Sackico’ with both managers under heavy pressure to retain their jobs.

The Irons find themselves in 14th place in the Premier League, with a nine-point buffer from the relegation zone after the crucial win.

Following the contest, former Wolves player Kilman posted on Instagram, saying: “a game that meant so much more. We are all with you @michailantonio [prayer emoji] Good to see everyone from @wolves [handshake emoji].”

West Ham players united for Antonio

The match on Monday evening (9 December) took on a new importance for the Hammers following the news that Michail Antonio had been involved in a serious car accident.

A must-win contest for the manager became a must-win game for the whole club as they united to show solidarity with the striker.

As Kilman said in his post after the match, the game meant more for the Hammers players after the distressing news.

Tomas Soucek put up nine fingers after he opened the scoring and Bowen held up an ‘Antonio 9’ shirt towards the crowd after he scored the winning goal.

It was massive win for the club, in terms of both their manager’s future and also the overall atmosphere after such a painful week.
