Max Kilman raves about West Ham United ‘beast’ Jean-Clair Todibo after win v Ipswich

Max Kilman has taken to Instagram to laud defensive partner Jean-Clair Todibo after West Ham United convincingly beat Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The duo lined up for what would turn out to be the club’s first home league victory of the season, a welcome boost for Julen Lopetegui.

Both players were part of an ambitious recruitment drive led by Tim Steidten over the summer, as Kilman arrived from Wolves for £40million and was soon joined by the French international on a loan-to-buy agreement worth £34m.

Todibo posted matchday imagery on the social media platform [5 October] after the 4-1 win at the London Stadium, to which Kilman simply replied: “Beast”, accompanied by a flame emoji.

West Ham United finally win at the London Stadium

That West Ham managed to secure a convincing three points on Saturday afternoon means relief around the London Stadium as much as anything else.

The Hammers had lost each of their opening three home league matches, with Lopetegui beginning to attract criticism and receive unideal comparisons to silverware-lifting former boss David Moyes.

To Lopetegui’s credit, he set his team up to be bold but organised and for the most part succeeded in their mission, as barring Liam Delap’s early equaliser they were largely untroubled.

It was a job well done for the Irons, who can now relax a little heading into the international break before a short but tough trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 19 October.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United also come within the next six fixtures for Lopetegui’s growing side.
