Martin Allen fires sarcastic jibe at Julen Lopetegui after West Ham United v Everton, ‘Love it’

Martin Allen fired a sarcastic dig at Julen Lopetegui after West Ham played out a 0-0 stalemate with Everton on Saturday.

With both sides battling at the bottom of the Premier League table, many already saw the fixture as a “six-pointer” but the London Stadium was subjected to a rather disappointing display of football.

The Hammers had a chance to win the game late on, with Crysencio Summerville hitting the post, but chances were few and far between and could only claim a single point at home on 9 November.

Taking to X on Saturday (9 November), Allen wrote: “Great game at West Ham today, loved every minute. Another point on the total – love it. Chance after chance falling our way.

“J Low [Lopetegui] must be going home happy. Timothy must be chuffed with his recruitment.”

West Ham United play out bore draw with Everton

Despite the poor form recently, fans will have been expecting their side to claim all three points against the Toffees at home, and now patience for Lopetegui is almost non-existent.

The new manager has absolutely nowhere to hide after getting the exact players he wanted during the summer transfer market and attempting to install his own style of play.

Following the draw, the Hammers are just five points above the relegation zone and have a goal difference of minus six, which is just embarrassing at this point in the season.

Even the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta have dropped in form, joining the rest of their teammates, and few can blame them as the Irons continue to struggle each week.

Although they can boast wins over Manchester United and Ipswich Town, little looks to be changing for the better in East London and frustrations are beginning to boil over.

In other West Ham news, a left-back is being watched by the Hammers, with a return to England on the cards.
