
Marseille show class as special Michail Antonio West Ham flag unfurled
Marseille fans showed their support towards West Ham United star Michail Antonio ahead of their Ligue 1 clash against Nice on Saturday.
The French club expressed their love towards the Jamaican after his road traffic accident by unfurling a banner with “Antonio 9” on it before kick-off at the Stade Velodrome on 14 December.
In a photo shared on X by Ligue 1 (14 December), an England flag with the words “WHU” and “Marseille”, as well as the crossed hammers can also be seen.

Football fans across the globe have been sending their wishes to Antonio since the news about his unfortunate accident came out and it is nice to see Marseille supporters unfurl a banner in support of him.
Everyone is looking forward to seeing the 34-year-old regain full fitness and return to the pitch, although it may take 12 months before he knows if he can play again, according to Jim White (talkSPORT).
Assessing Antonio’s situation, Dr Rajpal Brar has said that he will spend the next few months allowing the fractures to heal before stepping up his recovery.
West Ham, meanwhile, are considering handing the striker a contract extension.

Antonio is set to enter the final six months of his contract at the London Stadium, but the Hammers are prepared to hold talks over a new deal when he leaves the hospital (The Times).
