Mark Noble wants David Sullivan to appoint Ruben Amorim at West Ham United
Mark Noble wants David Sullivan to appoint Ruben Amorim to replace David Moyes at West Ham United this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their website (4 May), the news outlet reports that club legend Noble and technical director Tim Steidten believe appointing the Portuguese coach would be a statement of intent.
But West Ham look to be pushing ahead with a move for Julen Lopetegui instead, with an offer already tabled and the Spaniard close to an agreement to take over this summer.
West Ham United taking the easy way out with Lopetegui?
Moyes finally looks set to be leaving the club after months of speculation about his future, so the question now is who will replace him?
Plenty of names have been linked with the job, but one striking difference between the candidates has been the fact that Lopetegui is currently a free agent and that means no negotiating with other clubs or any compensation.
Most would have predicted that would be the route Sullivan would go down, but if the board are seriously interested in stepping up a level and competing they need to be more ambitious than that.

Lopetegui has a great CV and his record is fine, but it’s hardly mind-boggling or outstanding while Amorim is regarded as one of the best young coaches around right now, and is about to win the Portuguese title for the second time in four years.
It seems more like Sullivan taking the easy way out, rather than going for the best candidate, and that could spell trouble heading into next season.
In other West Ham news, Chris Sutton has tipped another Moyes return in 2024/25 if he is sacked this summer.
