Mark Noble complaints info emerges after West Ham announcement

West Ham United players complained about a lack of direct contact with Julen Lopetegui to Mark Noble, according to The Times.

The newspaper reported via their website on 8 January that Noble was aware of the players‘ frustration with not being able to speak with the Spaniard, who used technical coach Edu Rubio as a mediator as he spoke English fluently, directly.

As someone close to the players, the sporting director was, therefore, in favour of a managerial change at the London Stadium.

It is worth noting that Noble was not in favour of appointing Lopetegui as David Moyes’ successor at the start of the season in the first place.

Like Tim Steidten, the sporting director wanted to lure Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP before he moved to Manchester United [talkSPORT].

With players growing frustrated with their communication with Lopetegui – or the lack of it – it is understandable that Noble wanted to change managers at the East London club.

Nevertheless, Lopetegui was relieved of his duties as the Hammers head coach on Wednesday, 8 January.

Graham Potter has since been roped in as their new boss, with the Englishman putting pen to paper on a contract until 2027.

While Noble’s stance over Potter remains to be known, it would not be a surprise if the two strike up a good relationship as they are both English.

Potter is also expected to solve the players’ frustration of not being able to communicate with their manager directly.

In other West Ham news, Graham Potter’s ally will not join him at the London Stadium due to Steidten.
