Mark Lawrenson shares West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur prediction
West Ham don’t have too much time to bask in last night’s (March 17) historic win with Premier League action and Tottenham Hotspur on the horizon as the Hammers top four push continues.
David Moyes’ side moved past Sevilla 2-0 at the London Stadium to book themselves a place in the Europa League quarter finals against Lyon.
The Scot will be urging his players to build on the momentum as they prepare to face their north London rivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (March 20).

Ahead of the crunch tie, Mark Lawrenson has shared his thoughts on the game on the BBC Sport website, predicting a 2-1 win for Spurs.
He said: “Tottenham are still very up and down in terms of results but I don’t think they played too badly in defeat against Manchester United last weekend, and they were decent in their win over Brighton on Wednesday.
“Like Leicester, West Ham are also in European action on Thursday and I think their tie with Sevilla will have taken a lot out of them. That’s why I’m going with a Spurs win.”
Maintain levels
You often see a team suffer from a hangover after a huge win and that’s exactly what last night was for the Irons.

The players, manager, fans and anyone involved with the club would have woken up today wondering if it was all a dream, but it wasn’t, the Hammers are massive.
It will be tough to maintain those levels for psychological reasons but there is no doubt Moyes and the senior members within the squad will be stressing the importance of the Spurs clash.
This isn’t only a massive game in the race for top four with Tottenham having the chance to overtake West Ham should they win on the weekend; it is a grudge match.
The last thing the supporters want is going from an extreme high to an extreme low, losing to their bitter rivals.
120 minutes of football has surely taken some of the sting out of this team but the relentless confidence they possess after last night might just make up for that.
