Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham clash v West Brom
Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham United to return to winning ways in their Premier League clash against West Brom on Wednesday.
The BBC pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-0 to the Irons, who will be desperate for three points after a shocking couple of weeks.
David Moyes’ men lost against Everton and followed that up with a disappointing draw at Brighton, as they look to have thrown away Champions League football.
Writing in his BBC predictions column, Lawrenson has backed the Hammers to finally return to form, although it may be too late.
“West Ham have run out of steam in the past few weeks, and their results have tailed off at the worst possible time for their top-four hopes,” he said.
“The Hammers have gone off the boil, but they have not been playing poorly, and they have not had any breaks. West Brom put up a heck of a fight against Liverpool on Sunday, but I’m going with West Ham to bounce back here.”
Must win.
Chelsea and Liverpool look to be playing it out for that final Champions League spot this season when it was ours to lose only two weeks ago.
Now sitting in seventh in the Premier League, we have to win at least one of our final two games to secure Europa League football next season.
If Everton had beaten Sheffield United last night, we could have been staring at no European football at all next season.
That would have been a complete failure.
We saw how gutted the squad were after the draw with Brighton, they must harness that disappointment into getting all three points at The Hawthorns.
