Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham clash v Leicester

Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham United to pick up a point in their Premier League clash against Leicester on Monday.

The Hammers will be looking to build on that fantastic win at Newcastle last week, but face a completely different challenge.

Lawrenson believes it will finish 1-1 at the London Stadium, with transfer activity needed desperately for David Moyes.

Writing in his BBC predictions column, Lawrenson backed GSB to splash the cash in the final weeks of the window.

“This is an interesting one,” he wrote. “West Ham did the double over Leicester last season, with two Jesse Lingard goals inspiring their win at London Stadium.

“There is no Lingard this time, although I am expecting the Hammers to be busy in the transfer market before the window closes at the end of the month.

“West Ham got four goals away at Newcastle last week which will have given them a big lift, while Leicester did just enough to beat Wolves in their opener.

“This time? You could make a case for both teams to win it, but I have a feeling the points will end up being shared.”

West Ham

The man.

Jesse Lingard is the name on most people’s lips this month, and that would be a major move to make before the deadline.

The playmaker has to be the priority, and if GSB can get a deal done for both him and a defender, they may even gain some more fans.

With Lingard looking unlikely to be used at Old Trafford, the door is wide open and we have to take advantage of that quickly.

Moyes will be left biting his nails as targets appear to come and go, but hopefully, there can be a couple of new faces arriving in the next two weeks.

As for a draw with Leicester, we don’t think there would be too many complaints about that one should it happen.
