Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham clash v Fulham

Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham United to pick up all three points against Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League.

The BBC pundit has predicted that the Irons will win 2-0 at the London Stadium, which he believes is the minimum they should be looking for.

Fulham are coming into the London derby on the back of their first win of the season over West Brom on Monday evening.

Speaking in his BBC Sports prediction column, Lawrenson believes that the Irons will test Fulham differently after this first win of the season.

“West Ham were decent in defeat against Liverpool last time out but nothing short of a win will do for the Hammers here,” he wrote.

“Fulham got their first league win of the season on Monday, but West Ham are a totally different proposition to West Brom – or at least they should be.”

West Ham have finally come out of the other end of their awful run of fixtures.

The Irons have gone close against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks, and will now have the opportunity to go up against a so-called lower side.

Fulham will be full of confidence on the back of their win against West Brom, but as Lawrenson said, the Hammers are a different proposition.

Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen have been superb in the counter-attacking style of David Moyes, and he will be expecting those two to have a different impact now his side should have more of the ball.
