Mark Lawrenson predicts outcome of West Ham United clash v Manchester United

West Ham will be looking to earn three wins in a row in all competitions when they face Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday (30 October).

Both the clubs were involved in European games in midweek, and the managers are expected to make some changes.

Mark Lawrenson feels that maybe Cristiano Ronaldo will score, and has predicted a 2-1 win for the home side.

West Ham

“Both are playing on Thursday night so that means there’ll be some chopping and changing. I’ll go for Manchester United to win this. I know West Ham are up to 10th and they’ve had a couple of good results. Maybe Cristiano Ronaldo will score, we can’t have a day where we’re not going on about him, can we? Manchester United 2-1 West Ham,” said Lawrenson to Paddy Power.

Tough

The Hammers returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against the Cherries.

Now, Moyes will return to his former club, and will look to get a positive result.

After the signings made in the summer, the Hammers should aim to secure a top-six position in the league. It won’t be easy though, but that’s the challenge they should set for themselves.

The Hammers made a poor start to the season, but they are gradually climbing up the ladder with some brilliant wins under their belt.

West Ham

Having said that, the Hammers need to get positive results (read as wins) away from home. It breeds enormous confidence. They are a formidable side at home, but the results away from the London Stadium need to improve a lot.

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Jarrod Bowen are capable of scoring against any side in the world. On Sunday, the club should go with a positive frame of mind, and look to pick up all three points.
