Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain eye West Ham star Tomas Soucek
Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek, according to The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas.
Writing on The Athletic website, Thomas reports the Hammers want to reward Soucek’s fine form this season with a new contract.
The 26-year-old Czech Republic international is West Ham’s joint-top goalscorer alongside Jesse Lingard this term with nine goals in 32 Premier League appearances.
Hands off the Super Czech
Not many players will come close to Soucek in the race to win West Ham’s player of the season award based on how well the midfielder has performed in the Premier League this term.
Not only has he scored so many goals but he’s also been a force to be reckoned with in the midfield, guarding the defence with his aerial dominance while also showing a superb ability to help push the team forward and contribute to attacks.
Soucek and Declan Rice have been a perfect midfield partnership.
Unfortunately, there’s always one caveat to players performing well and that’s that other clubs, who are far better off than West Ham financially, will want to take advantage.
We don’t really have much chance of competing with Man United and PSG from a financial perspective and we really hope David Sullivan and David Gold don’t see this latest news as a chance to back a profit on Soucek.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are interested in this “sensational” player playing at a Premier League club.
