Manchester City stance on Sergio Gomez emerges as West Ham United plot transfer

Manchester City will be willing to listen to offers for Sergio Gomez who’s wanted by West Ham, Roma, Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Sevilla, according to Caught Offside.

The news outlet reported on 21 June that the Citizens will be looking for offers of over £12million and up to £16.9million if they are to part ways with the 23-year-old.

It’s understood that the Spaniard is open to leaving the Etihad Stadium due to the lack of game time under Pep Guardiola.

Sergio Gomez will be a shrewd signing for West Ham

The Hammers could do well with a player like Gomez who is a young, talented player and has already shown great potential during his time at Manchester City and Anderlecht.

He is a versatile talent who can play as a left-back or further forward on the left wing or as a number 10.

The 23-year-old has the pace, skill and creativity to make a significant impact in the Premier League and would be a regular starter under Julen Lopetegui.

Given his age, he has plenty of room for improvement and can thrive in an attacking system.

Under the guidance of Lopetegui, he could develop into a top-class player and become a key part of West Ham’s defensive setup for many years to come with new faces being eyed as well.

Whether or not the Hammers manage to sign him ahead of the competition, remains to be seen.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the free transfer of a player who’s set to leave a Premier League club this month.
