Manchester City reject bid for West Ham-linked James McAtee
Manchester City have reportedly rejected an £8million offer from Brighton for West Ham-linked teenager James McAtee.
According to The Athletic, the Irons and Crystal Palace are among those keeping tabs on the 18-year-old midfielder.
At the start of the summer, Pep Guardiola singled him out along with four other players among those he sees featuring around the first team this season.

Frightfully expensive
While McAtee may be a bright prospect, even a fee of £8 million is not enough to tempt the Citizens to let go of the midfielder.
He has done well thus far in the Premier League 2 this season, but that does not merit the Hammers shelling out a figure that is likely to be in the region of £10million, given City are open to a deal.
West Ham need reinforcements in attack and defence and not in midfield as it seems to be one of the most sorted positions for David Moyes.

Dealing with a club like Man City is not going to be easy as it is, as they put a great emphasis on their academy prospects and will not part ways with them on the cheap.
The Brighton model runs on signing players for cheap and making profits off their sales, but it’s not something the Hammers would want to do.
West Ham are looking out for players who can help bridge the game with the top four, and McAtee, at his current level, is not one who can do that.
