Manchester City player reacts as West Ham United agree terms for signing

Manchester City youngster James McAtee has taken to social media to react after West Ham United confirmed the signing of Wes Foderingham.

The Hammers announced the free transfer deal to bring the goalkeeper in when his contract with Sheffield United came to an end.

Former teammate and Man City youngster McAtee has commented on the announcement post on Instagram (26 June) to congratulate him on the move.

He said: “All the best brother”.

West Ham confirm Wes Foderingham signing

The Hammers have confirmed their second signing of the summer after bringing Luis Guilherme in earlier this month.

The 33-year-old will act as a second or third choice under Julen Lopetegui with Alphonse Areola set to continue as the Hammers’ number one.

He had a very tough season in the Premier League with the Blades last time around and a clean break suited both parties this summer.

West Ham fans haven’t been left as excited as the Guilherme deal but as a utility option, on a free transfer, there aren’t many complaints.

Tim Steidten has taken charge of transfers this summer after David Moyes departed at the end of the season and is moving quickly.

There have been plenty of links and two deals have already been confirmed with the window only being open for a matter of weeks.

Foderingham will be good to have around the dressing room and represents a risk-free deal for the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the transfer of a player who’s set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month.
