Man United vs West Ham postponement latest as Met Office issues weather warning

West Ham travel to Manchester United on Thursday as the Premier League’s busy December calendar kicks off.

West Ham lost 2-0 against Liverpool on Sunday, keeping them in the thick of the relegation battle at the London Stadium.

Lucas Paqueta was foolishly sent off on 30 November after two yellow cards and will miss the trip to Old Trafford as a result.

With the weather taking a turn for the worse, though, it could be a trip to forget for many.

Met Office issues Manchester weather warnings

It is two away games next for Nuno Espirito Santo and the Hammers.

West Ham take on Manchester United on 4 December, with the Red Devils fresh off an impressive 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace over the weekend, thanks to Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount.

West Ham want to sign Zirkzee in January, so that will be an interesting match-up to watch out for.

It was dry after a week of rain for these games, but the Met Office has now issued a yellow weather warning for Manchester.

The warning for rain currently spans across Monday and Tuesday, meaning conditions should improve drastically for Thursday, meaning no chance of postponements.

With flooding of homes, businesses and roads expected, though, travel could be impacted.

West Ham state of play in Premier League

Despite West Ham’s wins over Newcastle and Burnley being followed by a draw at Bournemouth, things still aren’t amazing.

The defeat against Liverpool has dragged many back down to earth, especially after Leeds nearly stole a result at Manchester City.

West Ham are only out of the bottom three on goals scored, and will be thankful that Leeds take on Chelsea and Liverpool next during this busy week.

Manchester United and Ruben Amorim blow very hot and cold in the Premier League, so there will be chances afforded to the Irons; they just need to take them.

With questionable weather ahead at the start of this week, conditions could make this anyone’s game for the taking.
