Lucas Paqueta set to arrive for West Ham medical on Saturday
Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta is set to undergo medical ahead of his move to West Ham, according to French publication L’equipe.
It was reported on Friday that both clubs agreed to a fee for the transfer of the Brazil international in the ongoing transfer window.
As per the latest report, the player is expected to undergo medical at the London Stadium on Saturday and therefore, he will not take part in Lyon’s next fixture.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano also reported that the clubs have exchanged the paperwork ahead of Paqueta’s medical on Saturday.
Big signing
West Ham entered the transfer window hoping to sign players to strengthen many positions on the field and with less than a week to go in the transfer window, they have already made a lot of significant signings.
However, despite adding quite a few players, it almost felt that something was missing in the starting XI as the Hammers suffered three defeats in as many matches.
Signing Paqueta is a move in that direction as he can very well be the player who can link the attack to defence which was missing in the early phase of the season and therefore, his arrival will be a massive boost to the side.
The Brazil international has been a Lyon player ever since moving there from AC Milan in a deal worth £18 million.
Since then, he has represented his current club in 80 matches across all competitions where he managed to score 21 goals and provided 14 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
