Lucas Paqueta has ‘slim chance’ of being fit for West Ham United Premier League clash v Tottenham
Lucas Paqueta has a “slim chance” of being fit for West Ham United’s Premier League fixture against Tottenham on Sunday, according to West Ham Way.
Six Foot Two had suggested (14 February) the Hammers hoped the Brazilian could resume training ahead of the trip to North London.
However, West Ham Way has since claimed (17 February) the 25-year-old is now unlikely to feature against Antonio Conte’s side, with Paqueta likely to be available for the Hammers’ next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.

“Although there is a very slim chance that Paqueta could be involved in the London derby against Spurs this Sunday, at this stage it is more likely he’ll be available for the Nottingham Forest match the following weekend, or the FA Cup tie against Manchester United on 1st March,” they wrote (West Ham Way).
Stop-start
A number of West Ham’s summer signings have all faced similar problems when it comes to injuries. Paqueta has been out multiple times, Gianluca Scamacca has had his issues and Maxwel Cornet has barely featured. Furthermore, Nayef Aguerd missed most of the first half of the season through injury.

Perhaps the injury situation is a good explanation as to why the Irons sit so close to the relegation zone at present and had all the players been fit, it could have been a very different outcome. West Ham head to North London knowing that a win could put some considerable daylight between them and the bottom three.
Everton currently occupy 18th position are just two points adrift of David Moyes’ side, however, they face fellow struggles Leeds United at the weekend. A win over Spurs could see a four or five-point gap emerge ahead of a favourable home fixture against Nottingham Forest.
