Lucas Paqueta could get lifetime ban in West Ham United news

West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta could be banned for life if found guilty after he was charged by the FA with betting breaches, according to The Times.

The newspaper has reported on its website that if the charges are proven, bans within the FA rules for one singular charge are between six months to life.

Paqueta has been charged with four alleged breaches of the betting rules in Premier League games between November 2022 and August 2023.

Lucas Paqueta set for lifetime ban?

Wow, this is absolutely crazy.

This betting investigation has been going on for months now and nobody in their wildest dreams could have imagined the punishments could be this bad.

Even the minimum potential punishment of six months would be a huge blow to Paqueta and West Ham, who are very reliant on the Brazilian at times.

At the same time, if this is proven to be true, the player can not be allowed to get away with it, just as Ivan Toney and Sandro Tonali have also found out.

On the very same day that Julen Lopetegui was announced as the new West Ham manager, the news that has followed is simply devastating.

With a long investigation before Paqueta was charged, we are a very long way from finding out any punishment, which could also be followed by an appeal.

This saga is far from over.
