Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus have ‘licence to roam’ under David Moyes, it is ‘transforming’ West Ham United

Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus have been given a “licence to roam” by West Ham manager David Moyes.

That is according to journalist Alex Keble after the Hammers defeated Wolves 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday (17 December).

Summer signing Kudus netted a brace at the London Stadium clash as Jarrod Bowen also scored, with Paqueta assisting all three goals.

West Ham

“They have crept up the table thanks in no small part to the performances of Mohammed Kudus, who scored a brace against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Lucas Paqueta, who on Sunday became only the second Brazilian after Roberto Firmino to record a hat-trick of Premier League assists,” Keble wrote for the official Premier League website (18 December).

“David Moyes has given both players licence to roam, filling in wherever they can find space. It is transforming West Ham’s football, adding spark to a sometimes stodgy shape and bridging the gap between the pragmatic approach that always defines Moyes’s teams and the more dynamic style preferred by supporters.”

Huge talents

Kudus and Paqueta have proven time and again this season that they really are two of the brightest talents in the Premier League, and right now are two of the most in-form players.

The latter actually took some time adjusting to life at the London Stadium following his arrival from Lyon, with the Brazilian perhaps feeling some pressure after a big-money move to England.

But he is now at the very top of his game, as proven in the latest victory against Wolves, in front of a very satisfied Hammers crowd.

The former, however, has taken no time at all to settle into life in East London following his summer switch from Ajax. The attacker has produced several dazzling displays in claret and blue, and does not look like slowing down anytime soon.

Both have proven to be superb signings from the powers that be at West Ham, with the club now needing to not only keep both fit for the coming months, but also needing to ensure they remain at the London Stadium for as long as possible.

In other West Ham news, Daniel Sturridge and Roy Keane were in agreement over an incident in the match against Wolves, with a “WWE” verdict shared.
